Medina is the second holiest place on this earth for Muslims. This was the place who became home for Muhammad PBUH in 622. This place is not only the symbol Islamic power but also the home of Prophet PBUH. No matter where Muslims live on this earth visiting this place will be their wish till their last breath. Medina is among the most sacred places in Islam after Makkah and Whether It’s Hajj or Umrah, people go and visit the Ziyarats for getting as much blessing as they can. This article will inform you about the significance of these places and their part in majestic Islamic history.

Medina Ziyarats and Islamic History

Al-Masjid an-Nabawi

The most significant and important site to be viewed by any Muslim is masjid e Nabwi PBUH. This mosque was constructed by Prophet Muhammad PBUH in the region of Hejaz by himself. This mosque is the world’s largest mosque and dedicated to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. The history reports that the camel of Prophet Muhammad PBUH upon entering Yathrib (Now Medina) did not stop at the home of Medina’s chief instead knelt down at the site where Masjid a Nabwi is situated right now. From that time Prophet Muhammad PBUH declared this site as Home. Then Muhammad PBUH bought this land and constructed Mosque which is now Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that Maimunah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“Whoever prays in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (that is good), for I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘ One prayer offered there is better than a thousand prayers offered elsewhere, except the Masjid of the Ka’bah.Sunan an-Nasa’i 691

Green Dome (Roza Mubarak)

This is the burial chamber of Prophet PBUH, this chamber holds the tomb of Muhammad PBUH and his best friend and father in law Abu Bakar Siddique (R.A) Umar ibn al-Khattab. The sources claim that the fourth place is going to be given to Jesus (Isa) when he will return on this earth.

There are many other ziyarats which are done in Al-Masjid an-Nabawi including the Minbar, Minarets and Mihrab. Which are quite adjacent to the Green Dome in the same Mosque.

Riyaad Ul Jannah

This is also referred to the Garden of paradise from the referral sources, distinguished by the green carpet and also referred to as Rawdah. Scholars report that this garden is either a version of the same garden which is in Heaven or this place is actually Garden of Heaven which will reunite with the heaven on the day of judgement because of the peace which is experienced on this site makes it very special and out of this common world.

Masjid e Quba

This mosque is considered as one of the most important parts of Islamic history. Masjid e Quba is a place where the shower of immense blessing is offered to those who offer salah here. Those people who are going to perform Umrah must know that 2 Rakat of Salah offered here are same as performing whole Umrah.

Masjid e Bilal

This Mosque which pays tribute to first Muezen (one who calls for prayer) of Islam Hazrat Bilal (R.A). He was one of the black slaves who was presented to Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A) and he set him, Hazrat Bilal (R.A) was one of the best companions of Prophet Muhammad PBUH and Prophet PBUH also gave him the designation of being the first every Muezen of Islamic history. The voice of Hazrat Bilal was so powerful that when he used to give Azaan (call to prayer) people would immediately gather for Prayer (Namaz).

Masjid e Jumma

This Mosque has the privilege holding the voice of Prophet PBUH when he offered the first ever sermon of Jummah or Friday noon prayer. This is the reason why this Mosque is named Masjid e Jumma.

Masjid e Abubakar

Basically, this was home of Abu Bakar which was then converted into Masjid so that people could come and offer prayer here by the Saudi government.

Masjid al Kiblatain

This mosque is said to be the mosque with two Kiblas. This was a place where on Rajab 2 a revelation came to Prophet Muhammad PBUH and there the direction of Kibla was changed to Ka’aba so that made this mosque on of the most important milestones in Islamic history. Those who are going to perform Umrah in 2019 for the first time must spend time in this magnificent mosque and offer prayer here as well.

Jannat al Baki

This is the most blessed graveyard in Islamic history. There are many quoted said by Muhammad PBUH regarding this utterly sacred place. One of these quotes was that he will on the day judgement rise from his grave taking all the inmates of this place with him.  Muslims all over the world come to visit this place and this is the symbol of purity and integrity. Paying a visit here and asking for forgiveness from Allah is also a very important part of Ziyarats.

Wadi e Jin

It’s the place where miracles happen in reality, this place is included in many of those places where actually miracles happen. The force of gravity work in a very miraculous way, your car will keep moving at the speed of 120kmph even when your engine is turned off. So this interesting place is 20 km away from Medina.

Uhd and Jabil e Ayr

According to the sayings of Prophet (PBUH), Uhd is the place which is loved by Muslims as it loves Muslims as well. Ayr is the place which is hated by Muslims and this place hates us in return. This is one of the most important ziyarats, these mountains are first and the second highest mountains in Saudi Arab. Uhd represents heaven and Ayr represents hell. In the cave of Uhd, the tooth of Prophet PBUH was Martyred.

Bir Ali

While returning from an expedition army of Hazrat Ali (R.A) ran out of the water and at that time this well was found, so it was named as Bir Ali.

Bir Sifa

This well used to have the poisonous water until the saliva of Muhammad PBUH purified it. From that day till now Muslims came here and drink this most purified water in this planet and this well was named Bir Sifa.

Bir Usman

This well was bought by Hazrat Usman Ghani when Medina suffered the drought and shortage of water due to lack of rainfall.

Battle of trench’s Site

This battle was fought with strategy and in surah Ehzab Quran whole scenario has been told with detail. This battle was fought between Jews and Muslims and this site holds major significance for Muslims. While performing Umrah visiting this Ziyarat is very important.

These all sites are very much significant and important for Muslims. These places hold the most important and signified packages of blessings, make sure if you get the golden chance to perform Umrah in 2019 you spend proper time and offer salah at all these points for gaining the immense blessing.
